Congratulations! It’s a Fifth-Wheel!

40 feet 4 inches long and 13,884 pounds… It’s a big one!

Early in September, we finally received the fifth-wheel that will be our home for the next year! It was surreal having the actual RV that we will be living, traveling, sleeping, eating, teaching and learning in! As tempting as it is to start moving in, we are trying to stay focused on all there is to do at the house to get moved out and get things ready for future renters.

For those who are interested ….who am I kidding… for the one person who is interested, our rig is a 2020 Grand Design Solitude S-Class 3740BH. We bought the rig from a lovely family that lived full-time in the RV for six months. It has a separate room in the back for the kids as well as a half bath just for them! Jon and I will be sleeping in the ‘front’ of the trailer on our California king tuft and needle mattress, next to a large closet containing a much cherished washer and drier. That to say, we opted for comfort over agility. ;) Once we’re settled in, we’ll post more pictures and even attempt a video tour or two! In the meantime, it’s time to pack some more boxes!

Oh yeah, and we really need a truck…
